· 57 Posts. #9 · Dec 11, 2014. Only show this user. I have the LMS mini mill (fixed column) model 3960. It's ben replaced by the 3990. I'm very happy with it. The motor has plenty of torque for my needs and no gears to break. The fixed column is sturdier that the tilt column.

I've had this mill for 6 years now and for the money it's been great. I immediately converted it to CNC, so I can't really comment on its function as a manual mill, but I've run a lot of quite complicated jobs with it as a CNC, mostly aluminum but a few things in steel and even thin stainless.
